President's Commission on Disability Issues
Annual Disability Achievement Awards
The President's Commission on Disability Issues annually honors those persons and/or groups who have made significant contributions to the quality of life for person with disabilities at the University of Maryland. Historically there are three awards: Faculty Disability Achievement Award, John W. King Staff Disability Achievement Award, and Student Disability Achievement Award.
Here are some of the types of contributions made by PCDI Disability Achievement Awards recipients in the past:
A person and/or group who has taken extra steps to ensure physical, academic, or social accessibility for all students with disabilities.
A person and/or group who has initiated a program intended to improve the quality of life for persons with disabilities.
A person and/or group who has actively promoted awareness of disability related issues.
DEADLINE FOR NOMINATIONS: Deadline For Nominations is the 2nd Friday in September. Nominations received after the 2nd Friday in September will be considered for the following year's PCDI awards
