SUMMARY:

FY 2004 Access Maryland Program - Request for approval of the program.

REQUESTOR:

Ms. Brenda D. Testa, Director, Department of Facilities Planning

COMMENTS:

The University has received an average of $150,000 annually in Access Maryland Program funds.

· The status of the approved FY 2001 and 2002 Access MD projects is presented in the attached summary sheet.

· The Governor's Budget for FY 2003 was approved with an allocation of $243,000 for ten projects. See the attached list.

· The proposed FY 2004 Access Maryland Program includes 8 projects at a total estimated cost of $508,100. The program request will be submitted by the May 20, 2002 deadline to the Governor=s Office for Individuals with Disabilities (OID) for review and funding consideration.

· The Director of Disability Support Services and the President=s Commission on Disability Issues (PCDI) has reviewed and concurs with the proposed program.

FUNDING:

$508,100 FY 2003 Access Maryland Program

FM RECOMMENDATION:

Approval of FY 2004 Access Maryland Program and share this program with the Facilities Advisory Committee as an information item.
