X-8.00(A) UNIVERSITY OF MARYLAND POLICY ON TICKET SALES AT OR NEAR COLE FIELD HOUSE, BYRD STADIUM, OR COMCAST CENTER

APPROVED BY PRESIDENT MARCH 6, 1993; Amended January 3, 2005

I. INTRODUCTION

Ticket sales by unauthorized persons at Cole Field House, Byrd Stadium, or Comcast Center lead to vehicular and pedestrian traffic congestion which prevent the orderly conduct of activities and present potential safety hazards. Unauthorized ticket sellers attract crowds and draw vehicles that park illegally in roadways and fire lanes and block access to pedestrian walkways, loading zones, and handicapped areas.
II. POLICY

Accordingly, the unauthorized sale or offer for sale of tickets for events which are held at Byrd Stadium, Cole Field House, or Comcast Center is expressly prohibited, when:
    1. the sale or offer for sale occurs within one hundred yards of Cole Field House, Byrd Stadium, or Comcast Center, and
    2. the sale or offer for sale occurs at any time between two hours before an event and the end of the event.
III. SANCTIONS

Students or staff violating this policy will be subject to University disciplinary procedures. Others violating this policy will be subject to penalties for trespass.
