February 28, 2011
Dear Members of the University Community:
I am very pleased to announce the appointment of Frank Brewer, Associate
Vice President for Facilities Management, as Interim Vice President for
Administrative Affairs, effective March 1, 2011. Frank has provided
exemplary leadership in his current position, overseeing the
construction, renovation and operation of campus buildings, and taking a
leadership role in major initiatives such as East Campus. He also
served as Interim Vice President for Administrative Affairs in 2007. I
am very grateful for Frank's willingness to defer his retirement until a
permanent successor is on board. I know that he will continue to work
with the excellent team in Administrative Affairs to ensure continuity
in the division and advance our strategic priorities.
Frank will succeed Dr. Ann Wylie, Vice President for Administrative
Affairs, who is moving to the position of Senior Vice President and
Provost. The division and campus have benefited greatly from Ann's
leadership and achievements.
The University has begun a national search for the permanent Vice
President for Administrative Affairs. Dr. Linda Clement, Vice President
for Student Affairs, will chair the search committee, with assistance
from a professional search firm. More information about the search will
be forthcoming.
Wallace D. Loh
President
