Interview (Kojo Nnamdi Show): Reimagining College Park

Ask alums what they like least about the University of Maryland and they’ll likely say Route 1. The road cuts through campus and is known for its dive bars and low-rent businesses just north and south of the school. But University President Wallace Loh is on a mission to transform the Route 1 area into an upscale, mixed-use downtown that appeals to all — faculty, students and the larger community. He joins Kojo and architect Roger Lewis to explain his vision for creating a lively college town.
