The Year in Review
The end of an academic year is a time to celebrate the accomplishments of our graduating students. It is also a time to reflect on the university’s progress over the past year and what it augurs for the future with respect to academic excellence, innovation, internationalization and the revitalization of College Park.
For the first time in several years, we received new state funding that will benefit students, faculty and staff. We will expand the number of science and engineering majors to meet the demand of students and the needs of our economy. Faculty and staff will receive merit and cost of living increases after years of flat salaries, enabling us to retain and recruit top talent.
