In 2008, the University of Maryland developed a comprehensive and bold 10-year strategic plan, “Transforming Maryland: Higher Expectations.” In the years since, we have experienced a remarkable rise in accomplishment and reputation. At the beginning of the 21st century, we can say that every person sent out from a university should be a person of the world as well as a person of his or her time.
