The Campus Community

You are here

To foster the education, critical thinking and intellectual growth of students, to create and apply new knowledge via research, scholarship and the creative arts, to improve the surrounding world, we must first foster an inclusive community of global citizens committed to academic freedom. We are dedicated to act with entrepreneurial spirit, embrace the power of technology, operate with fiscal responsibility and administrative efficiency, foster transformational change and create a vibrant surrounding community.

Reflection, Dialogue, and Action

Across our large and decentralized University, there are actions already underway, with more planned as described below. Yet no administrative office, or new initiative, will improve our campus climate without every member of our community playing a part. We all need to ask what we can do each day to stand for our values.

Thriving Workplace

Each of us has a stake in making our day-to-day work as engaging, inclusive, and effective as possible. We do our best work when we feel connected to co-workers and our institution, share common goals, and commit our creativity and passion. Last spring, we launched the Thriving Workplace Initiative to make meaningful changes campus wide.
